My Story
Growing up I was personally affected by anxiety, depression and substance use issues. I realized I wanted to become a therapist my first year of college. I immediately switch from an undecided, flailing 'business major' to a full-fledged psychology major. After graduating with my BS in Psychology and taking a year off to work I decided to go to grad school. My first experience in the field of mental health was facilitating intensive outpatient groups (IOP) for adolescent and young adults struggling with substance use issues. Over the years I have continued to work with teens and young adults in some capacity. I've had the opportunity to work with children and families in an inpatient setting as well as outpatient therapy. My natural, introverted nature makes me a good listener and able to bring a different perspective to problems and troubling situations for my clients. I am a lifelong learner and enjoy learning new things from each and every client. I believe humor can be a huge asset when navigating life and I like to bring a casual, caring mindset to sessions.
How I approach therapy
The first session is typically spent gathering information. This can be family history, symptoms, treatment history, and a timeline of your concerns. My clients typically note some progress around the sixth session. I do assign homework when I feel it would be beneficial and worth your time.

I'm here to offer you a warm and welcoming space to explore the issues that challenge you. But just because therapy is serious business doesn't mean we can't have fun too! Outside of therapy sessions, I'm an avid reader and collector of vinyl. I love discussing everything from bestselling thrillers to 2000s pop punk albums. I'm always eager to learn about my clients' interests, passions, and hobbies - no matter how niche. Our time together isn't just about tackling tough topics, but also celebrating the unique aspects of what makes you who you are. Contact me to schedule a session today, and together we'll take the first steps towards a happier and healthier you.
